  • Drink water when you are thirsty.
  • Water helps every cell and organ in your body work.
  • Water cushions your joints.
  • Water helps keep you regular.
  • Water keeps your body cool, and prevents dehydration when you are sweating.
  • Water carries nutrients and oxygen to cells in your body.
  • Water protects organs and tissues in your body.
  • Water removes wastes from your body.
  • You can live without food for about a month, but you can only live without water for approximately one week, depending on the conditions.
  • Your body is 66 percent water.
  • The human brain is 75 percent water.
  • Depending on your size, activity level and weather conditions, you should drink 2.5 quarts of water per day from all sources (water, food) to maintain good health.
  • This is a really interesting fact: Nearly 97 percent of the world's water is salty or otherwise undrinkable. Another 2 percent of water is locked in ice caps and glaciers. That leaves just 1 percent of water for all of humanity's needs such as all its agricultural, residential, manufacturing, community, and personal needs.
