Protein
• Skim milk
• Supplemental beverages
• Fortified milk
• Low-fat creamed soup
• Low-fat yogurt
• Low-fat cottage cheese
• Scrambled eggs
• Tuna, egg or chicken salad made with low-fat mayonnaise
• Baked, flaked fish
• Ground meats and poultry
• Fat free refried beans

Starch
• Hot cereals
• Low-fat whole grain crackers
• Baked and mashed potatoes
• Brown rice
• Whole grain bread (as tolerated)
• Whole grain pasta (as tolerated)
• Peas

Fruit
• Bananas
• Melon without seeds
• Canned fruits packed in own juice or water
**Use caution with fruits with skins, seeds and pulp

Vegetable
• Well cooked vegetables
• Canned vegetables
**Use caution with fibrous vegetables (i.e. corn and celery)

Fat
• 1 tsp. oil
• 1 tsp. margarine
**Use sparingly!

REMEMBER: Stop eating when you feel full. One extra bit could make you uncomfortable, nauseated and may eventually stretch your pouch.

BREAKFAST
• Milk serving 2 Tb. yogurt
• Starch serving 2 Tb. oatmeal
• Fruit serving 1 Tb. canned fruit

MORNING SNACK
• Supplemental beverage 4 oz (1/2 cup)

LUNCH
Eat in 30-45 minutes
• Protein serving 2 Tb. tuna salad
• Vegetable serving 1 Tb. peas
• Starch serving 2 low-fat whole grain crackers
• Fruit serving 1 Tb. melon

AFTERNOON SNACK
• Supplemental beverage 4 oz (1/2 cup)

DINNER
Eat in 30-45 minutes
• Protein serving 2 Tb. ground chicken breast
• Fruit serving 1 Tb. banana
• Starch serving 2 Tb. brown rice
• Vegetable serving 1 Tb. carrots

EVENING SNACK
• Supplemental beverage 4 oz (1/2 cup)
